Day 51

Week 6, Day 6 MMX done. Last week doing MMX was not tough, but more of a learning experience. Today I wanted it to be tough since I had seen the workouts and tried to do all the moves. That is exactly what it was. Tough! I pushed as hard as I could and worked up a big sweat and felt a sense of accomplishment after it was all done. I'm not saying that I'm ready to jump into the octagon, but I definitely got a great workout in. I burned calories and my body knows that I was working. My legs and my shoulders were feeling it.

Although I have one more workout for the week, it is only Dynamix which is not a workout to scoff or shrug off, but I am essentially done for the week. I have said this before, I think Dynamix could be a daily workout along with whatever else you are doing that day, but for the week and bringing intensity to the workouts this is not one that you do that with. Sunday is my rest/Dynamix day and I choose to do Dynamix every time. Another week done and my goal for this week was to increase my intensity and increase my resistance, I did just that. I had soreness after Eccentric Upper, Triometrics and Eccentric Lower. I pushed harder in Incinerator and MMX. I have been doing my pushups daily and getting stronger there. My plank is set for 2 mins today and yesterday I did 90 seconds twice. I feel that my effort this week physically has been there.

I feel my nutrition has been pretty good this week as well. I am staying off the scale until the 60 day mark to see where I will end up. I think that numbers can get in the way of progress, because of how it affects us mentally. We have good numbers and we are excited, but conversely we have bad numbers and we get down on ourselves and we could possibly do something destructive because of the whole "well this isn't working" mentality. We all have to realize that fitness in our life is not a sprint, it's a cross country run. We have to maintain consistency over time to become fit. We can't just diet for a week and do a few workouts and expect our body to have some miraculous transformation. Those things take time. We just have to be patient and consistent.

While tomorrow is Sunday and I will be doing Dynamix, it is also SuperBowl Sunday. I am not going to any parties or having a big spread here. I am just doing the same thing with a big football game to watch. I love to watch the game, but I always love to have some great food. I did buy some jalapeno cheddar sausages for the game, so that is the worst thing I will be eating. Then I will be ready to start Eccentric Upper on Monday for the last time in this block. I have to bring it harder and with more intensity than this last week to meet my goal for this block. It is the last week of hard work before transition week and then the upcoming day 60. I will enjoy tomorrow, but I will really enjoy this next week of hard work.
