Day 60

Week 8, Day 1 Isometrix done. Today is day 50 for P90X3 and just 10 days until day 60. That is the 2nd milestone in the 90 day workouts. That will be the day I take pics and do measurements and that day will be next week on Wednesday. I hope to see a good change with both weight and measurements, but at least with the measurements. The weight would be nice, but knowing I am putting on muscle mass, I would understand if the total weight loss would not be another 20 lbs for this last 30 days.

Transition week is bitter sweet for me in P90X3. I know I need to transition and prepare for the final block by allowing the muscles to recover and doing more stretching exercises. I know it's a vital part of continuing to have those gains, but I also like to continue to push myself and work hard. It's especially more frustrating to leave this block behind for something different since, to me, this block is so awesome with all the resistance work. I am still doing planks and pushups, but that is such a small portion of what I feel has helped me during this block.

I now have to look forward after this week to start the final block and again step up my efforts. I want to be below 300lbs by the end of this round of P90X3, but if not, I won't be devastated as this isn't about just 90 days, but about the rest of my life. If I am at, close to or under 300 after my first round, I know I can be even lower after round 2. I think, though, I will be doing the 21 day fix after this round of P90X3 and then doing round 2 after that. Not exactly sure how I will do it, but I will be doing something from now on.

Isometrix, which I did today, is focused balance moves for 45 seconds each. The moves come mainly from yoga from what I can tell. As I have never done a formal yoga class, I am not completely sure about the accuracy of that statement. No matter where they come from, you will start to sweat if you can hold those positions and you will be challenged. You would think that not moving would be as difficult as it is, but you will know you have been working hard without moving. I know that some would want to skip workouts like this or exchange them out for some general aerobic type of workout. My suggestion would be not to do that.

While you may think that this workout doesn't "do it" for you, and you may be right due to the number of times you do this particular workout, the moves are all incorporated throughout other workouts within the series especially X3 Yoga and Dynamix. These particular exercises require a great deal of strength especially core strength, both of which I don't have pound for pound. Since these exercises are within the entire series, it was nice to see an increased ability to do them even though this was only the second time doing this workout. What you learn is that even though you may not understand or know why you do some of the moves you do, they have a compound affect and help improve you in areas where you are weak.

This will be my preparation week for the final phase of this program. I will be getting my Shakeology tomorrow or the next day based on my tracking number and can get started with the healthiest meal of the day. Preparing this week with diet and the workouts to be ready to just kill the next 4 weeks after that. The transition week is essentially 4 weeks and the last week is similar to a transition week and then the final day pics and measures. It's crunch time people. If you weren't serious before, now it's the time to buckle down and do that work.
